On July 4, 2025, Khao Sok National Park officials in Surat Thani Province and a team of veterinarians safely released the wild elephant "Pa Khwanjai" back into the wild after it was healthy and ready to live on its own in its original habitat.
Previously, on June 7, the wild elephant was injured after slipping and falling in a villager's palm plantation. The veterinary team from the Conservation Area Management Office 4 (Surat Thani) and Khao Sok National Park officials have been closely monitoring it continuously, causing it to gradually improve.
